You must retain and reward talent when you find the star employee who consistently delivery far and beyond their pay level. Most employees will be part of the 9 to 5 crowd and there is nothing wrong with this. However, there are a small percentage less than 1% who are the star players. The movers and shakers of your business empire.
If you don’t learn anything from the business world, take this lesson with you, as it will serve you very well. I have in my firm only small hand full of star players in 2018.
You must retain and reward these star player otherwise, you may lose them to your competition in 2018. For example you have a hot shot lawyer who has saved your firm countless fees and legal cost. You can just retain them but without any reward they may move on to some other firm which does.
There is an saying; to find a diamond is easy if you know how, but to retain, that is hard.
